Dear Valued Customer,
On July 6, Blackwell’s
Book Services announced our plans to implement a new order management
and distribution system. I am happy to report that Blackwell's Book
Services’ new system has been successfully installed and will provide
you with the long-term benefits of speedier turn around times, higher
quality invoices, enhanced reporting capabilities, and increased
functionality in Collection Manager.
As
with any dramatic technological advance there are initial adjustments,
which we are currently fine tuning. As of September 23rd
our system was at 50% of pre-installation capacity, by end of week we
had exceeded our normal daily billing and shipping production. We
expect this trend to continue as we are shipping higher numbers every
day.
We sincerely appreciate your
patience during the implementation period. I can understand that the
short-term delays in receiving could impact your workflow and cause
uneasiness among your staff and patrons. However, I assure you
that getting orders into your library is absolutely the top priority
for everyone at Blackwell’s. Worldwide, people are literally
working 24 hours a day, each day, to get you your shipment.
Again, thank you for your patience during this
extraordinary time and for your continued trust in Blackwell’s long
record of service to libraries. I know you will be extremely pleased
with this new system.
Sincerely,
Daniel P. Halloran
